Technical Application Engineer Cutting Tools

Role & responsibilities

• Visit CNC machining and manufacturing companies to understand machining requirements.
• Study component drawings, materials, machining operations and existing tooling.
• Support cutting tool and insert selection for turning and milling applications.
• Understand and work with cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed and depth of cut.
• Conduct and support cutting tool trials at customer sites.
• Monitor tool life, surface finish, cycle time and machining performance.
• Identify machining problems and support root-cause analysis.
• Prepare application and trial reports.
• Support tool-life improvement, cycle-time reduction and process optimisation.
• Provide technical support and coordinate with internal technical teams.
• Travel to customer sites for trials, applications and technical support.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or related engineering.
• 13 years of experience in CNC machining, production, tooling or manufacturing.
• Freshers with strong technical fundamentals and genuine interest in CNC machining and cutting tools are welcome.
• Basic knowledge of CNC turning and/or milling.
• Understanding of cutting tools, inserts and tool holders.
• Basic knowledge of cutting speed, feed and depth of cut.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and basic understanding of GD&T.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Practical CNC machining or tooling exposure will be an advantage.
