Experience : 4 - 6 Years ‍ ‍ About Us XCaliber is the operating platform for healthcare and health tech organizations, enabling real-time decision-making and autonomous workflows. Our platform powers healthcare-specific copilots through three core products: an Interoperability Gateway (out-of-the-box access to Epic, athena, Elation, eCW, and more), a Healthcare Data Fabric for clean, connected data, and Agentic Workflows for automation at scale. The result: faster integrations, lower costs, and improved patient care. We are seeking a Platform Tech Lead who will drive the technical execution of platform initiatives, ensuring software is built with the right design patterns, secure foundations, and long-term maintainability. This role will be central in bridging product vision with engineering execution, reporting into product and engineering leadership while mentoring and guiding the development team. ‍ What You Will Work On

• Technical Leadership & Architecture ‍ + Define and enforce application security practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, RBAC/IAM). + Drive architecture and design decisions using modern design patterns and principles for scalability, reliability, and maintainability. + Own data modeling decisions to ensure integrity, performance, and extensibility.
• Execution & Delivery ‍ + Collaborate with Product and Engineering Managers to translate requirements into actionable technical deliverables. + Partner with the Operations team to ensure smooth deployments, monitoring, and reliable software delivery pipelines. + Oversee sprint execution, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
• Code Quality & Reviews ‍ + Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices. + Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable code. + Introduce automated testing, CI/CD, and observability best practices where appropriate.
• Team Mentorship & Growth ‍ + Mentor and coach team members, fostering technical excellence and career growth. + Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team. + Instill a culture of accountability, urgency, and ownership in delivery.
• Best Practices & Innovation ‍ + Champion the adoption of modern frameworks, tools, and methodologies for software development. + Continuously assess and improve processes to enhance developer productivity and system reliability. + Serve as a role model for engineering discipline, execution excellence, and cross-team collaboration. ‍ What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Architect in a platform or backend-focused role.
• Strong expertise in design patterns, system architecture, and scalable microservices design.
• Solid knowledge of application security, including OAuth2, SSO, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling for relational and distributed databases.
• Strong coding proficiency in at least one of Go, Java, or Python; familiarity with polyglot environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with product managers, engineering managers, and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities. ‍ Preferred Qualifications ‍
• Prior experience in healthcare technology or other regulated industries.
• Background in building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Exposure to observability frameworks (metrics, logs, tracing).
• Track record of scaling teams and instilling engineering best practices.
