Why This Role Matters As a Consultant – M&A Infrastructure Advisory , you will support ERM's global consulting delivery by providing technical, ESG, and EHS due diligence services for infrastructure and energy sector transactions. You will work within ERM's growing Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team, partnering with infrastructure funds, private equity firms, investment banks, energy companies, and ERM technical specialists to help clients evaluate investments and manage transaction risks.
With a team of over 50 consultants delivering due diligence services globally and increasing client demand across the infrastructure sector, this role is critical to expanding ERM's M&A advisory capabilities and delivering high-quality technical insights that support investment, divestment, and project financing decisions.
What Your Impact Is Deliver high-quality technical due diligence assessments that enable clients to make informed investment, acquisition, divestment, and financing decisions.
Support the successful execution of transaction advisory projects by ensuring compliance with ERM, client, governance, and health & safety requirements.
Identify opportunities to enhance services and address emerging client needs, contributing to continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
Contribute to business growth by identifying follow-on opportunities, supporting account management activities, and helping achieve sales targets across designated projects and clients.
What You’ll Bring A solid academic background with an engineering bias (for example, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering).
Minimum 7 years of technical consulting, engineering, or operational experience during your career within the energy / infrastructure sectors.
Strong technical skills and the ability to identify risks and opportunities within technical documentation, site visits and technical discussions, relating to points such as asset integrity, operational performance, management systems or business plans.
Demonstrates excellent organisational skills, self-motivation, self-sufficiency and the ability to work successfully in a fast turnaround team environment.
Must be able to promote and execute quality work, and ensure high standards are being achieved by yourself and the team.
Exhibit advanced report writing and presentation skills. Experience in a client facing role.
Experience reviewing EPC contracts, Financial Models, design and specifications, budgets for industrial projects.
Experience assessing asset integrity and performance (HSE, maintenance, availability, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications Management of previous external client projects or experience in a client facing role.
The ability to manage or assist with complex project delivery coordinating multiple workstreams into client deliverables.
Previous experience in technical due diligence.
Knowledge of current, reasonable costs associated with Capex (Capital Expense) and Opex (Operational Expense) for engineering assets / projects.
Familiar with decarbonization strategies and technologies.
Key Responsibilities As a consultant, you will be expected to: Deliver proposals, which will include development of our company profile, scopes of work, scheduling and commercial terms.
Successfully deliver large, complex and/or multidisciplinary consulting and due diligence projects and/or specific deliverables or phases of work on larger, more complex or higher complexity programs.
Lead projects that provide our clients with a technical, operational and business plan evaluation of their proposed investment on infrastructure assets.
lead the coordination of typical project deliverables such as Q&A submission, management sessions, client meetings and report delivery;
Work effectively across technical communities within ERM and subcontractors who are identified as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support project delivery and client interaction; and
Complete internal development tasks to improve the functionality of the infrastructure service line.
Lead, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of technical teams.
Understand the interrelationships between ERM practices and policies and how these are applied within the business model(s).
Take direction and achieve objectives with minimal oversight.
