Team Member - Disaster Management

• Plan and Preparedness - Contingency Plan # Disaster Risk Reduction / Disaster Mitigation Plan
• Build capacities of NGOs, CBOs, Youths and other key stakeholders on Disaster preparedness / Disaster Mitigation
• Carry out disaster risk assessment # Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots
• Develop plan for reducing the damage caused by natural hazards such as floods, droughts and cyclones
• Identify vulnerable location and mobilise community in very high and high climate vulnerable districts for programme intervention
• Conduct trainings for community / stakeholder in Disaster preparedness / Disaster Mitigation
• Coordination with grassroots / community stakeholders for effective implementation of the standard operating procedures based disaster preparedness / disaster mitigation
• Conduct capacity building for selected individuals(volunteers) in the areas of Disaster Risk.
• Build the partnerships with various stakeholders for effective implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction
• The DRR team members in the State to keep track of the weather advisories that are circulated in case of an extreme weather event.
• For Disaster Response all team members that are based out of districts in the State are the Main Point of Contact.

• Necessary: Graduation / Post Graduation in Climate Change / Environmental Science / Natural Resource Management / Disaster Management
• Desired: Development Sector

• Necessary: Minimum 2 years of disaster management/response experience
• Desired: community based Disaster Risk Reduction / Mitigation plan
