Job Description Software Asset Management (SAM)

Location: Chennai
Experience: 6-8 Years

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain software asset inventory across the organization.
• Track software licenses, subscriptions, renewals, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct software audits and ensure adherence to licensing agreements.
• Monitor software usage and identify optimization opportunities to reduce costs.
• Coordinate with vendors for software procurement, renewals, and license management.
• Generate reports and dashboards related to software assets, compliance, and utilization.
• Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Security, and Finance teams for effective asset governance.
• Support software lifecycle management, including deployment, upgrades, and retirement.

Required Skills:

• Hands on experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) or IT Asset Management (ITAM).
• Strong understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, etc.).
• Experience with SAM/ITAM tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of software compliance, audits, and asset lifecycle management.
• Good analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience in software optimization and cost management initiatives.
• Exposure to enterprise IT environments and governance processes.
