About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Partner/Director – Direct Tax to lead and grow our Direct Tax Advisory practice. This is a senior leadership position responsible for advising clients on complex direct tax matters, international taxation, transaction structuring, corporate tax, transfer pricing, and related regulatory matters.

The role will also involve business development, client relationship management, team leadership, talent development, and driving professional excellence across the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple Direct Tax engagements and ensure timely delivery within defined deadlines.
• Advise clients on complex Indian corporate tax, international tax, cross-border transactions, foreign exchange and related regulatory matters.
• Lead tax assessments, submissions, appeals and representation before CIT(A) and Tribunals.
• Advise on international tax planning, transaction structuring, foreign investments, transfer pricing and cross-border payments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, tax authorities, business leaders and internal stakeholders.
• Lead discussions on engagement scope, commercial terms and fee negotiations.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
• Drive cross-selling opportunities by leveraging strong internal and external networks.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging tax practices, regulatory changes and technical solutions.
• Proactively provide clients with strategic insights on global trends and their potential impact on business operations.
• Lead tax risk management and quality assurance processes while ensuring adherence to professional standards and internal SOPs.
• Hire, mentor and develop high-calibre professionals with strong technical and commercial capabilities.
• Build a high-performing team and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and professional excellence.
• Strengthen the firm's market presence through strong client relationships, thought leadership and exceptional client experience.
• Act as a custodian of quality, delivery and compliance across the Direct Tax practice.

Experience & Qualification

• 10+ years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax.
• Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Prior experience with a leading CA, Tax or Advisory firm is preferred.
• Proven track record of leading client engagements, teams and business development initiatives.
