Tax Lead

Role & responsibilities

• Manage Direct Tax, Corporate Tax, GST, VAT, and other applicable tax compliances across group entities.
• Oversee multi-state GST compliance, reconciliations, input tax credit optimization, audits, notices, and assessments.
• Manage corporate tax assessments, scrutiny, appeals, litigation, tax provisioning, and related reporting.
• Lead Transfer Pricing and intercompany tax matters, including documentation, reporting, and tax-efficient transaction structures.
• Develop and strengthen tax governance frameworks, SOPs, controls, and compliance calendars.
• Provide tax support for financing, refinancing, business expansion, fleet acquisitions, leasing, restructuring, M&A, and new business models.
• Work closely with external tax advisors, auditors, legal counsel, tax authorities, bankers, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and evaluate their impact on the business.
• Identify tax planning and optimization opportunities while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Lead and develop the tax team across group entities.
• Drive automation and improvement of tax reporting and compliance processes.

Preferred candidate profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory.
• 10–12+ years of progressive experience in corporate taxation.
• Strong experience in Direct Tax, GST, VAT, Transfer Pricing, and Intercompany Transactions.
• Experience handling taxation across multiple subsidiaries, legal entities, and states.
• Exposure to tax assessments, litigation, audits, and departmental proceedings.
• Experience in large corporates, logistics, transportation, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or trading sectors preferred.
• Exposure to Big 4 firms or large corporate tax functions will be an advantage.
