Tax Consultant II, Tax Services – Tax Transformation Consulting (TTC) - SAP MM/FICO/SD integration with Direct or Indirect Tax experience

Deloitte's Tax Transformation Consulting practice is seeking a Tax Consultant II to support clients as they modernize and improve their tax operations. In this role, you will help translate and support tax and business requirements into technology-enabled solutions that improve compliance, reporting, and operational efficiency. You will work across tax, process, and technology teams on projects that help large organizations build scalable tax functions.

Work you'll do

As a Tax Consultant II on the Tax Transformation Consulting team, you will be responsible for...

• Resolve day-to-day issues raised by users, analyze root cause and provide quick solutions.
• Troubleshooting daily system issues, managing user requests, and resolving incidents within agreed [Service Level Agreements (SLAs)].
• Supporting the delivery of tax technology and tax transformation projects for clients across industries
• Assisting with configuration, testing, validation, and support activities for tax technology solutions
• Collaborating with tax, technology, and client stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities

Tax Transformation Consulting helps clients respond to increased regulatory requirements and greater scrutiny by building tax functions that are strategic, agile, and focused on business value. The practice supports organizations in moving from their current state to the next generation of tax operations through process improvement, technology enablement, and operating model transformation.

Deloitte's Tax Transformation Consulting professionals work across tax, technology, organizational change, and co-sourcing disciplines to help connect global business strategies with practical tax function solutions. The team brings together specialized experience to help clients improve efficiency, manage risk, and enhance the performance of their tax departments.

Location: Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Mumbai/Pune/Gurugram/Chennai/Kolkata

Shift Timings: 10 AM to 7 PM or 11 AM to 8 PM

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Economics
• 2+ years of experience in tax technology, tax operations, tax transformation, or tax process support
• Hands-on experience with SAP FICO (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting), including configuration and support of tax-relevant integration points with SAP MM (procurement, tax codes, condition records) and SAP SD (billing, tax determination, jurisdiction codes)
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets), including configuration and support of tax-relevant integration points with Oracle Procurement (purchasing, tax codes, supplier invoicing) and Oracle Order Management (billing, tax determination, jurisdiction and nexus setup).
• Hands-on experience across NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workday, and Infor Financials, covering General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Cost/Multi-Book Accounting. Configured and supported tax-relevant procurement integrations in each platform, including purchase orders, tax codes, vendor bills/invoices, and invoice matching. Also managed billing and order-to-cash tax integration points, such as invoicing, tax determination (e.g., SuiteTax), nexus and jurisdiction setup, and tax code groups. Experience spans platform-specific tools like SuiteBilling (NetSuite), Sales/Trade module (D365), Customer Accounts (Workday), and Order Management/Billing (Infor).
• Experience with data, reporting, or automation tools such as Microsoft Excel, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL
• Experience in working on Incidents/Problems and small Change requests
• Working knowledge of SAP tax configuration objects, including condition types, tax codes, jurisdiction codes, and tax procedures (e.g., TAXINN/TAXINJ or equivalent)
• Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, HPALM, or JIRA for managing AMS tickets, incidents, and change requests within SLA-driven support environments
• Experience in documenting business requirements, process flows, or functional specifications
• Experience in supporting testing, validation, or implementation activities for technology or process-change projects
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience with tax engines such as ONESOURCE, Vertex, Avalara, including their integration with SAP FICO/MM/SD via RFC, BAPI, or standard tax interfaces
• Experience on handling support projects
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across tax, finance, and technology
• Experience with workflow or automation tools such as Power Automate or Power Apps
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly FICO, MM, and SD modules
• Chartered Accountant, MBA, Master of Commerce (M. Com), or comparable/equivalent postgraduate qualification
