System Administration Manager

Role & responsibilities

The Multi-Cloud Server Operations role is responsible for the day-to-day reliability, performance, security, and compliance of server workloads across OCI, AWS and Microsoft Azure. The role includes provisioning, patching, automation, monitoring, incident response, cost governance, and continuous improvement across Linux (Ubuntu/Oracle Linux) and Windows Server environments, with integration to enterprise tools (AD/Entra ID, XDR,SIEM, ITSM, backup, and Netskope)

Monitoring, Incident & Problem Management:

• Operate observability stack: OCI Monitor / CloudWatch / Azure Monitor / Site 24/7, /App Insights.
• Define SLOs/SLIs; maintain runbooks, escalation matrix, and on-call procedures.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions; reduce repeat incidents
• Maintain dashboards and alerts for CPU, memory, disk, IOPS, network, latency, and application health

Operations & Reliability:

• Manage server lifecycle: provisioning, hardening, patching, backup/restore, and decommissioning across OCI/AWS/Azure.
• Administer Linux (Ubuntu 20.04/22.04+, Oracle Linux) and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 VMs, images, and templates.
• Maintain high availability using autoscaling, load balancers, zones/regions, and failover strategies.

Security & Compliance:

• Enforce baselines: CIS hardening, secure images, encryption at rest/in transit, secrets management (OCI KMS/ Azure Key Vault / AWS KMS).
• Integrate with SIEM (e.g., Palo Alto XDR / Microsoft Sentinel) and Palo Alto XDR / EDR/antivirus for servers
• Implement identity/access controls: OCI IAM, IAM roles, Azure RBAC, least privilege, Just-In-Time access
• Support audits and compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO:9001), maintain evidence in ITSM
• Coordinate with Netskope/SOC and network security teams for cloud edge security and data protection policies

Automation & Governance:

• Automate provisioning with Terraform/CloudFormation; maintain reusable modules.
• Write operational scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for patching, compliance checks, backups, report generation.
• Optimize cloud costs: rightsizing, reservations/savings plans, storage lifecycle policies, and budget alerts
• Maintain tagging standards, CMDB updates, and alignment with Change Management (CAB) processes

Backup, DR & Business Continuity:

• Operate backup/restore with native services and enterprise tools (e.g., OCI Backup, Azure Backup, AWS Backup).
• Design and test DR plans (RTO/RPO) across regions; conduct DR drills and document outcomes.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills:

• 510 years in server operations; 5+ years hands-on in OCI/AWS/Azure.
• Strong administration skills in Amazon Linux/Ubuntu/Oracle Linux and Windows Server.
• Experience with monitoring, incident response, and RCA in production environments.
• Solid understanding of networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, NSGs/NACLs, VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change) and ITSM tools (ServiceNow/Jira)

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Ownership & accountability in high-pressure, 247 environments.
• Documentation discipline; ability to write runbooks and SOPs clearly.
• Mentorship of junior engineers and collaboration with application teams.
