Experience : 5+ Years
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years in IT, with
Sybase DBA experience .
- Experience supporting
24x7 high-availability systems .
Proficiency in:
- Sybase : Replication, Log Shipping, Physical Database Support, Performance Tuning.
- SQL Server : AlwaysOn, Performance Tuning, Windows Patching.
- Knowledge of
scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys).
Roles & Responsibilities: Core Database Administration
- Administer, install, migrate, patch, and maintain
Sybase and MS SQL Server databases in development, test, and production environments.
- Perform
backup/recovery ,
high-availability setups (AlwaysOn, Replication, Log Shipping, Clustering), and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor and optimize database performance through
indexing, statistics, query tuning, and partitioning .
- Troubleshoot
deadlocks, replication issues, and log shipping for both
Sybase and MS SQL Server .
- Manage
security controls , user permissions, roles, and compliance (PHI/PII, corporate/legal guidelines).
- Strong working experience in creating, modifying tables, Index (Cluster/Non-Cluster), Developed Different Maintenance Plans for database monitoring, table partitioning.
- Good understanding of Indexes, Statistics and Postgres
Operational Support
- Provide
24x7 rotational support (including weekends) for critical Tier-1/Tier-2 systems.
- Monitor database activity using third-party tools (e.g., Autosys) and resolve issues proactively.
- Analyze Sybase/SQL Server logs and application logs for anomalies.
- Familiarity with
Postgres
