Section II: Job Summary

Responsible for establishing the cost of installation, materials and workmanships. The role holder seeks to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

Section III: Do - Key Activities and responsibilities of the role

Financial

• Tracks and manages costs to ensure that the design remains within budget and essential additions are offset by identifying other opportunities for savings
• Strives to maximize the financial effectiveness and profitability of the business through diligent application of proper contractual and commercial practices and with careful risk management

Customer

• Liaises with the engineering and purchase department to ensure project requirements are met
• Liaises with main contractors, sub contractors and other parties involved to ensure successful completion of the project

Internal Process/Internal Process/Operations

• Demonstrates awareness of key objectives and priorities to assist in measurement, internal and external valuations and administration of contract records
• Assists in preparation of quotations/contracts that are beneficial to both the organization and the vendor by understanding and clearly stating the terms and conditions
• Coordinates with the Contracts Team in reviewing the Bill of Quantities to ensure the completeness of the BoQ in line with design drawings
• Co-ordinates with contracts team in finalization of Contracts Agreements and prepares all contracts related documents
• Handles sourcing and purchasing of materials and related products as per project requirements
• Prepares daily progress report against estimates for the project

Learning Development

• Provides advice in preparation of knowledge management with regards to the quantity surveying aims, principles and standards
