About this role
Industry: Silver / Precious Metals Manufacturing
Reports To: General Manager – Production
Location: Jaipur
Note: Please apply if you are from the jewelry industry
Job Purpose
Manage the end-to-end supply chain flow for silver manufacturing — inventory control, quality
assurance, production material planning, logistics, and finished goods dispatch — ensuring
cost efficiency, timely availability, product quality, and tight metal accountability given the high
value and purity-sensitivity of the material.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Metal Accounting
• Maintain precise stock records of silver at every stage — raw bullion, work-in-progress,
scrap, and finished goods
• Reconcile metal input-output ratios and monitor wastage/melting losses
• Implement systems for lot tracking and batch traceability (critical for BIS/hallmarking compliance)
• Coordinate physical stock verification/audits and manage insurance for high-value inventory
• Recommend optimal stock levels to minimize working capital tied up in inventory
Quality Assurance
• Conduct incoming quality checks on raw silver/bullion for purity before it enters production stock
• Verify quality of materials at receipt from job-work/outsourced units before acceptance into inventory
• Coordinate with QC/QA lab for purity testing (fineness, hallmark compliance) at key stock transfer points
• Conduct outgoing quality inspection of finished goods before dispatch, ensuring conformity to specifications and hallmarking standards
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and non-conformance/rejection logs
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action for quality issues linked to storage, handling, or vendor/job-work output
• Ensure proper packaging standards are followed to prevent damage, tarnishing, or contamination during storage and transit
Logistics & Distribution
• Plan secure transportation of silver and finished goods (armored/insured logistics as needed)
• Ensure timely delivery to customers/distributors in line with production schedules
Planning & Coordination
• Align material flow and dispatch plans with production schedules and sales forecasts
• Coordinate with production, finance, and sales teams for demand-supply planning
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with BIS hallmarking, GST, customs, and precious metal trade regulations related to storage, movement, and dispatch
• Maintain documentation for statutory, quality, and financial audits
• Manage risk related to theft, material loss, quality deviations, and in-transit security
Cost & Reporting
• Monitor and control logistics costs, inventory carrying costs, and cost of quality (rejections/rework)
• Prepare MIS reports on stock position, quality metrics, dispatch performance, and cost trends
• Support budgeting for inventory holding, logistics, and QA operations
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong understanding of inventory control and metal reconciliation for precious metals
• Working knowledge of purity testing methods and hallmarking/quality standards for silver
• Logistics and distribution management, including secure/insured transport of high- value goods
• Knowledge of BIS hallmarking, customs, and export-import documentation (if applicable)
• Proficiency in ERP/inventory management systems
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or Metallurgy (MBA in
Operations/Supply Chain preferred)
• 8–12+ years of experience in supply chain/materials management, ideally in precious
metals, jewellery, or bullion trading, with exposure to quality control processes
• Experience handling high-value inventory, purity/quality checks, and regulatory
compliance preferred
