    About this role

    Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Company: Client of D'GenMinds Talent Group

    Role Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will lead all facets of our upstream supply chain, focusing exclusively on strategic sourcing, high-stakes procurement of critical-grade materials, global/domestic vendor management, and project-based execution for the Oil & Gas sector. This role requires navigating strict regulatory compliances, high-integrity material sourcing, and specialized vendor partnerships to support engineered-to-order (ETO) vacuum systems for the energy sector, leaving physical warehouse operations and day-to-day internal logistics to dedicated plant teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Strategic Sourcing & O&G Vendor Management
    • Formulate and execute procurement strategies tailored for heavy industrial and Oil & Gas / Petrochemical equipment manufacturing.
    • Source critical high-grade raw materials, specialized metallurgy (e.g., Hastelloy, Titanium, Duplex/Super Duplex stainless steels), heavy castings, and explosion-proof electrical/instrumentation components.
    • Lead strategic negotiations, framing long-term master service agreements (MSAs) and framework contracts with global and domestic vendors capable of meeting strict Oil & Gas industry compliance and traceability standards.
    • Implement rigorous vendor qualification, supplier audits, and performance tracking systems, ensuring adherence to client-specific approved vendor lists (AVL) typical of major EPC contractors and O&G end-users.
    1. Project Procurement & Engineered-to-Order (ETO) Execution
    • Drive end-to-end procurement execution for customized, skid-mounted vacuum systems and packaged units for upstream, midstream, and downstream O&G projects.
    • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and sales teams during the bidding and execution phases to align material delivery schedules with strict project milestones.
    • Monitor project cost baselines, mitigate market volatility risks, and prevent cost overruns on long-lead, high-value components.
    1. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure all procured materials and sub-assemblies strictly comply with international oil and gas standards, safety mandates, and statutory certifications (e.g., ATEX, PED, NACE, ASME, ISO).
    • Coordinate closely with Quality Control (QC) and third-party inspection agencies (TPIAs like TÜV, BV, DNV) to drive source inspections, factory acceptance criteria, and material test certificate (MTC / EN 10204 3.1/3.2) verifications.

    4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & S&OP Alignment

    • Partner with the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) team to align market demand forecasts from the energy sector with supplier manufacturing capacities.
    • Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams early in the development cycle (Value Engineering / Value Analysis) to optimize component costs and source alternative high-integrity materials.

    5. Performance Metrics & Team Leadership

    • Track, analyze, and report vital upstream supply chain KPIs, including Cost Savings, Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), Project Schedule Compliance, and Supplier Quality PPM.
    • Mentor, train, and develop the procurement and sourcing team, instilling a compliance-driven, risk-mitigating corporate culture.

    Desired Qualifications & Skills

    • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. (Certifications like APICS CSCP/CPIM or ISM CPSM are a strong plus).
    • Experience:
    • Minimum 12 to 15 years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience within heavy engineering, rotating equipment, or Oil & Gas / Petrochemical manufacturing.
    • Demonstrated experience handling engineered-to-order (ETO) systems and interfacing directly with major EPC contractors (e.g., L&T, Technip, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, IOCL, Reliance).
    • Technical Knowledge:
    • Hands-on experience working with enterprise resource planning systems (SAP MM / PP modules or equivalent ERP software).
    • Sound understanding of mechanical/industrial components, fabrication, and engineered-to-order manufacturing processes.
    • Core Competencies:
    • Advanced negotiation and global contract management skills for high-value technical assets.
    • Strong familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
    • Proactive risk management and crisis-mitigation mindset.
    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities in a multicultural corporate setting.

    What We Offer

    • A vital leadership position within a globally renowned, market-leading industrial manufacturing organization.
    • Scope to shape, scale, and digitalize the end-to-end supply chain infrastructure.
    • Competitive compensation package paired with professional growth opportunities in a collaborative, innovation-driven culture.
