Supply Chain Manager - Imports, Logistics and Dispatch

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on professional to independently coordinate imports from China, customs clearance through a CHA, domestic transportation, dispatch documentation and procurement of packing materials for our engineered industrial products business.

The selected candidate must personally prepare and check documents, obtain and compare quotations, negotiate rates, place approved orders and follow up each shipment through delivery. This is an operational execution role requiring close daily coordination with overseas suppliers, CHAs, transporters, the factory and Finance.

Preferred candidate profile

• Practical experience personally handling import documentation, CHA coordination, domestic transport arrangements and dispatch documentation in a manufacturing or industrial trading environment.
• Ability to independently coordinate a shipment from receipt of supplier documents through port clearance and factory receipt, followed by dispatch to the customer.
• Hands-on experience preparing or processing invoices, delivery challans, packing lists and e-way bills, and checking transporter lorry receipts.
• Experience obtaining comparable quotations, negotiating CHA and transport charges, checking additional costs and issuing orders within approval limits.
• Ability to select the lowest commercially suitable quotation after checking total cost, service reliability, delivery requirements and exclusions.
• Strong Excel and record-keeping skills, attention to detail, consistent follow-up and clear communication with suppliers and service providers.
