Supplier Quality Engineer (On contract) - Rohtak location

Key missions of the position:

• Describe the principal mission of the position

- Lead commodity supplier quality with experience of 6-10 years

- Ensure supplier quality expert role, supplier selection , approve and support supplier development and create return of experience and same will be capitalized for similar parts and processes .
- Monitor performance & improve them.

SQ Engineer is located at Rohtak -regional . Commodity in charge to co-ordinate with central SQ commodity team. Ensure specific needs and support with right quality parts to assembly for the Rohtak plant and Global Sourcing .

Main responsibilities :

• Understand the chemical and physical testing on raw materials, including but not limited to viscosity, density, moisture content, ash content, curing time, melting point, flow length, Laser Diffraction, Particle Size Analysis, ICP, XRF, FTIR, TGA, and DSC.
• Analyse the test data to identify Frcition material performance trends and generate detailed technical documentation, including Technical Data Sheets (TDS)
• Understand the specifications for friction materials to meet specific performance requirements for manufacturing of Brake Pad/Brake Blocks
• Review and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Develop basic understanding of the raw material manufacturing processes for brake block/pad components such as resin, rubber, graphite, steel, bronze, brass, barite, calcium carbonate, and lime etc
• Provide clear, data-driven recommendations for material improvements and process optimization to suppliers.
• Manage supplier complaint and failure analysis activities, ensuring effective resolution and documentation of findings.
• Interpret scientific data and effectively communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making.

Expertise and Return of experience:

• Coordinate the creation of commodity purchasing technical specifications & check lists.
• Lead the process of return of experience taking into account all LLC issued within commodity
• Provide expertise to other sites (SQA / SQE) and other networks (Commodity Lead buyers, Supplier Development, Engineering, Industrial . )

Educational Qualification:

• B.Sc/M.Sc Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineer or a related field.
• Familiarity with automotive or industrial material testing environments.
