Subject Matter Expert

About the Role

We are looking for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support a specialized AI data project involving the evaluation, interpretation, and description of domain-specific visual and technical content.

Engagement Details

• Duration: 1 month, extendable
• Availability: 6 hours/day
• Work Type: Freelance / Remote
• Educational Qualification : Masters and above
• Hourly rate : 2$-3$
• Location : India
• There will be an interview session and an assessment for this project.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret assigned images, diagrams, charts, graphs, maps, and technical visuals.
• Create accurate, objective, and easy-to-understand descriptions of visual content.
• For graphs/charts, provide a single paragraph of 35 sentences covering:
• The main trend or key insight.
• 13 significant values, ranges, comparisons, or relationships.
• Relevant timeframe, where applicable.
• Clear distinction between observations and interpretations using terms such as suggests, indicates, appears to, or is consistent with.
• The key takeaway or important trend/value to watch.
• Review and evaluate data sources relevant to to assigned domain and identify additional sources where required.
• Assess samples for relevance, quality, captions, findings, and metadata.
• Estimate data volume and recommend source/category splits.
• Provide Go/No-Go recommendations for data sources.
• Flag licensing or access concerns.
• Support the creation of style guides and gold-standard examples.
• Follow project guidelines and maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, or equivalent expertise in a relevant domain such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Engineering, Architecture, GIS/Geospatial, Data Science/Statistics, or Patent/Technical Documentation.
• Excellent written English and strong analytical skills.
• Strong visual interpretation and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with online databases and spreadsheets.
• Methodical approach to evaluating sources and information.
• Familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
