Job Description Senior Zonal Manager (SZM)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Senior Zonal Manager (SZM) to oversee logistics and hub operations across the assigned zone. The candidate will be responsible for operational excellence, hub performance, team management, last-mile delivery, and achievement of business targets while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple hubs within the assigned zone.
• Monitor inbound, sorting, scanning, dispatch, and last-mile delivery operations.
• Ensure adherence to defined SLA, TAT, productivity, and service quality targets.
• Manage and guide Hub Incharges, Assistant Hub Incharges, and operational teams.
• Track hub performance through daily MIS, dashboards, and operational reports.
• Drive improvements in shipment processing, delivery success rates, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor shipment ageing, pending shipments, returns, and operational exceptions.
• Ensure proper COD collection, reconciliation, and timely reporting.
• Manage manpower planning, rider availability, attendance, and productivity.
• Conduct regular hub visits, performance reviews, and operational audits.
• Identify operational gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with central operations, line-haul, last-mile, and support teams.
• Handle escalations and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Drive cost optimization and continuous improvement across the zone.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualification: Graduate in any discipline; relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.
• Experience: 5–8 years of experience in logistics, e-commerce, courier, or supply chain operations.
• Prior experience managing multiple hubs or a geographical zone is preferred.
• Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
• Good understanding of hub operations, last-mile delivery, and rider management.
• Knowledge of SLA/TAT monitoring, COD management, and operational metrics.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MIS reporting, and operational dashboards.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel across hubs within the assigned zone.
