Position Purpose

The GM Sales and Trading Assistants (SATA) are responsible for assisting the front office in their day-to-day activities through, but not limited to proper deal capture flow, life cycle events management, controls and post trades services. SATA is expected to show initiative, flexibility, accuracy, good communication and commitment working in the front office environment.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structured Credit Trading Assistant to support our trading team in APAC, managing their fixed income securities and their PnL estimations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in financial markets, exceptional organization skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fixed income trading desk and contribute to the success of our trading operations

Responsibilities

• Main tasks involved trade booking, reporting, blotter setup.
• Attention to details (esp. on booking and post-trade processing) is a must.
• Coding / programming is a plus. We may expand to pricing (knowledge on pricing of credit derivatives instruments is a plus) if the above is satisfactory.
• Trade Support: Assist traders in post-trade process of fixed income trades, including corporate bonds, government bonds, CDS, to ensure smooth front to back trade life cycle.
• Trade Reconciliation: Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of trades, including matching trade details with counterparties and resolving discrepancies.
• Reporting: Prepare daily and weekly P&L for management purposes.
• Communication: Liaise with internal parties (e.g. Trading, Sales, Business Managers, Operations, IT, Risk, Finance, Compliance, Legal etc.) and external counterparties to facilitate smooth trade execution and settlement.
• Process Improvement / Control Framework: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve trading processes, systems, and workflows. Participate in product developments, system migrations, and system enhancements.

Specific Qualifications (if Required)

• Degree in Finance, Business or Banking
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in a related role (middle-office or front office assistant)
• Strong product knowledge
• Good understanding of market conventions, workflows and transaction life cycles to ensure a successful and smooth process
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as a strong team player
• Effective communication skills - written and verbal
• Excellent attention to details and good problem solving skills
• Risk awareness and understands its impact to Front Office and Operational risk
• Strong programming or computer skills is an advantage (VBA, Python)
• Knowledge of BNPP systems would be a plus
