Structural Draughtsman

Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Draughtsman to join our design team. This role involves preparing precise technical drawings for a variety of building types including commercial, educational, institutional, and residential projects based on architects sketches and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in CAD software, a solid grasp of structural drafting principles, and the ability to translate design intent into accurate construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed working drawings from architects sketches and instructions.
• Use CAD software (AutoCAD/ZWCAD) to incorporate exact measurements, calculations, building codes, and construction details.
• Print and organize CAD drawings for use by architects, engineers, and project managers.
• Conduct site visits to take measurements and prepare as-built drawings when required.
• Collaborate closely with architects to ensure compliance with building specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Civil or ITI certification in structural drafting (or equivalent).
• 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in architectural drafting.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD or ZWCAD.
• Strong understanding of sketching fundamentals and design principles.
• High attention to detail and mathematical accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
