Strategic Sourcing Intern

Role & responsibilities -

• Support identification and sourcing of pharmaceutical drug-delivery devices and components, such as inhaler devices, nasal devices, pre-filled syringe components, auto-injectors, injection devices, measuring devices, pumps, actuators, valves, containers, and other relevant components.
• Identify and develop a database of potential domestic and international device manufacturers/suppliers.
• Coordinate with suppliers for technical information, product specifications, samples, drawings, quotations, lead times, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Assist in evaluating suppliers based on technical capability, quality, regulatory compliance, capacity, cost, lead time, and supply reliability.
• Coordinate procurement and receipt of samples, prototypes, development batches, and commercial quantities.
• Support preparation and comparison of RFQs, commercial quotations, technical offers, and supplier proposals.
• Maintain supplier records, specifications, quotations, sample status, development status, and other sourcing-related documentation.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand device requirements, specifications, timelines, and project needs.
• Assist in supplier qualification activities in coordination with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams.
• Support collection and review of supplier documents such as specifications, drawings, certificates, declarations, quality agreements, regulatory documents, DHF & CDA closures.
• Track supplier development activities and ensure timely closure of open actions and deliverables.
• Support cost analysis and identification of cost optimization / alternate sourcing opportunities.
• Assist in benchmarking available devices and suppliers in the market.
• Coordinate with vendors for design changes, customization, tooling, mold development, and technical modifications, where applicable.
• Maintain the MIS / tracker for open points for Rubicon as well as all device suppliers.

Preferred candidate profile -

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Device Sourcing to support the sourcing, evaluation, development tracking, and procurement of pharmaceutical delivery devices. The role will involve working closely with Device Development, R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain teams to identify suitable suppliers and ensure timely availability of devices for formulation development and commercialization.
