Position: Store Keeper

Reporting To: Store In-Charge / Project Manager

Job Summary

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and record-keeping of construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables at the project site. The role ensures proper inventory control, material availability, and accurate stock records to support uninterrupted project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and supplies.
• Verify material quantities and quality against delivery challans and purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate stock registers and inventory records.
• Monitor stock levels and inform management about replenishment requirements.

Material Receipt & Issue

• Ensure proper storage and preservation of materials.
• Issue materials to site teams as per approved requisitions.
• Maintain daily records of material receipts, issues, and balances.
• Track returnable materials and unused stock.

Stock Control & Reconciliation

• Conduct periodic stock verification and physical inventory checks.
• Reconcile physical stock with system and ledger records.
• Identify discrepancies and report shortages or damages.
• Prepare monthly stock statements and inventory reports.

Documentation & Record Keeping

• Maintain GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), delivery challans, gate passes, and issue slips.
• Ensure proper documentation of material movements.
• Maintain records of tools, equipment, and consumables.

Coordination

• Coordinate with procurement, project, and accounts teams regarding material requirements.
• Support audits and inventory inspections.
• Ensure smooth material flow to project execution teams.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Ensure proper stacking, storage, and material identification.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the store area.
• Follow company safety guidelines for material handling and storage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in any discipline.
• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 28 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or manufacturing projects preferred.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of inventory and store management procedures.
• Familiarity with construction materials and equipment.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/Inventory Management Systems.
• Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
