To manage and control all store activities at the project site, ensuring proper receipt, storage, issue, and record-keeping of materials required for smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Management: Manage day-to-day store activities at the project site.
- Receive and verify materials received at site.
- Ensure proper storage and identification of materials.
- Issue materials to site teams as per approved requirements.
- Maintain proper stock levels and avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Material Records: Maintain inward, outward, stock, and material issue records.
- Maintain proper documentation for all materials.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Identify and report shortages, damages, or excess materials.
- Construction / Railway Store Activities: Handle construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Coordinate with site teams for material requirements.
- Ensure materials are available as per project requirements.
- Railway or Highway project store experience is mandatory.
- Coordination: Coordinate with Procurement, Site, Planning, Accounts, and Project teams.
- Follow up on pending material deliveries.
- Coordinate with suppliers and transporters when required.
- Report material shortages and urgent requirements to management.
- Computer & Reporting: Maintain store records using computer/ERP/software.
- Prepare stock statements and material reports.
- Maintain Excel-based inventory and consumption records.
- Provide regular reports to the Project Manager / Project Head.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction site store activities.
- Railway or Highway project store experience is required.
- Good knowledge of material receipt, storage, and issue procedures.
- Good computer knowledge and MS Excel skills.
- Strong record-keeping and inventory management skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage store operations independently.
