Store In-Charge cum Assistant Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Stores & Inventory operations, including receipt, inspection, storage and issue of materials.
• Maintain GRN, stock registers, material issue slips and other store records.
• Ensure proper material identification, tagging, binning and systematic storage.
• Monitor minimum/maximum/reorder stock levels and ensure uninterrupted material availability for production.
• Conduct physical stock verification and reconciliation; monitor slow-moving, obsolete and rejected materials.
• Handle transformer manufacturing materials such as CRGO, copper, aluminium, transformer oil, insulation materials, bushings, radiators, tanks and electrical components.
• Assist in purchase activities, including collecting indents, obtaining quotations and preparing comparative statements.
• Coordinate with vendors for price, quality, specifications and timely delivery.
• Follow up on pending Purchase Orders and maintain supplier documentation.
• Maintain inventory through ERP and MS Excel and prepare stock/MIS reports.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Accounts and Purchase teams.
• Supervise Store Assistants/Store Keepers/Helpers and allocate daily activities.
• Ensure proper material traceability and documentation from receipt to production.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Stores & Inventory Management and Purchase Coordination.
• Good knowledge of Transformer/Electrical manufacturing materials.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong vendor follow-up, negotiation and coordination skills.
• Good documentation, stock reconciliation and reporting skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Stores & Purchase.

• Experience in Transformer Manufacturing / Electrical Equipment / Heavy Engineering will be preferred.
• Candidates with ERP-based inventory management experience will have an added advantage.
