About this role
We are looking for a Staff SDET to lead quality engineering across our AI-powered products. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll define the quality strategy, build scalable automation frameworks, own CI/CD quality gates, and ensure production reliability. You will work closely with Engineering, AI, and DevEx teams to make quality an integral part of software development rather than an afterthought.
Responsibilities:
- Define and own the overall test strategy across unit, integration, component, contract, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Design scalable automation frameworks and improve test architecture.
- Build and maintain CI/CD quality gates with automated validation.
- Introduce model accuracy regression testing for AI-based systems.
- Drive shift-left testing practices and improve application testability.
- Define quality metrics, reliability dashboards, and engineering KPIs.
- Improve release confidence through automated regression testing.
- Partner with engineering teams to reduce production defects and improve reliability.
- Lead defect analysis and continuous quality improvements.
- Mentor SDETs and champion engineering best practices across teams.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in QA automation / SDET roles.
- 2+ years in a staff, lead, principal, or equivalent technical leadership role.
- Strong programming experience in Java.
- Excellent understanding of Spring Framework.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as PyTest, JUnit, and TestNG.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc. ).
- Experience with Docker and containerized testing.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems testing and contract testing.
- Experience with static code analysis tools like SonarQube, SpotBugs, Checkstyle, mypy, pylint, or similar.
- Strong SQL skills for defect analysis and reporting.
- Ability to define a testing strategy from scratch for complex systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
Good to Have:
- Experience testing AI/ML systems or model accuracy validation.
- Healthcare or HealthTech domain experience.
- Experience with Playwright or Selenium.
- Experience with SRE concepts, SLOs, reliability engineering, or chaos testing.
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools and workflows.
- Experience with quality dashboards (Grafana, Looker, Metabase).
