Role Description The Staff Engineer at Vivid Pulse will serve as a technical leader, owning the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems and services. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, where the Staff Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define architecture, drive best engineering practices, and ensure high-quality deliverables. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and refining technical designs, mentoring and coaching engineers, conducting code reviews, and troubleshooting production issues to maintain system reliability and performance. The Staff Engineer will also partner with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, champion automation and continuous improvement, and contribute to long-term technical strategy and roadmap.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system design, and object-oriented programming.
- Hands-on experience with modern backend or full-stack technologies (for example, one or more of Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, relevant frameworks, and RESTful or microservices architectures).
- Proven capability in designing and operating distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and working with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding engineering teams, mentoring peers, and driving technical decision-making and best practices.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with product, design, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Background in performance optimization, security best practices, and reliability engineering for production-grade systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments and prior work in a staff or senior engineering role is highly beneficial.
