    About this role

    Job Description

If you are an Application Developer with strong Oracle APEX and Java expertise, this role offers the opportunity to build and maintain enterprise-grade learning and training applications, including Online Training Administration, Event Reports, E-Learning API integrations, and education entitlement platforms for a global automation technology leader. You will work at the intersection of Oracle APEX, Spring Boot APIs, and React front-end development, delivering solutions that support thousands of learners and training administrators across Emerson's global network.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

    • Build, and maintain Oracle APEX applications supporting Online Training Administration, SPOT, NITRM, Event Reports, and E-Learning API (Gatekeeping) platforms.
    • Develop and maintain Spring Boot REST APIs that integrate learning management platforms, training entitlement systems, and downstream data consumers.
    • Build and maintain React front-end components for learning platform features, ensuring responsive, accessible user experiences for training administrators and learners.
    • Write and optimize PL/SQL code, packages, procedures, functions, and queries for Oracle Database supporting training data management and reporting.
    • Apply the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality solutions across the learning platform portfolio.
    • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across Oracle APEX, Java, and React layers while continuously improving application reliability and performance.
    • Collaborate with Product Owners, System Analysts, QA teams, and learning platform stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and application runbooks for learning platform systems.
    • Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and CI/CD pipeline practices using Azure DevOps.
    • Identify technical risks and opportunities and take independent action or escalate appropriately to ensure delivery timelines are met.

    Who You Are:

You analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions. You act with a clear sense of ownership and take personal responsibility for decisions, actions, and failures. You effectively communicate in various settings and provide timely, helpful information to individuals across the organization. You partner with others to get work done and create teamwork that allows the organization to achieve shared objectives. You step up to address difficult issues and are willing to champion ideas on their merits.

For This Role, You Will Need:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of software development experience with hands-on delivery across Oracle APEX, Java, and Oracle Database.
    • Oracle APEX (mandatory):
    • Proven experience designing and building Oracle APEX applications, including interactive reports, forms, REST-enabled objects, authentication, and page-level logic.
    • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including REST API design, service-layer development, JPA/Hibernate, and integration with Oracle Database backends.
    • Solid React development skills for building and maintaining front-end components on learning platform applications.
    • Hands-on experience writing PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and complex queries for data management and reporting use cases.
    • Experience consuming and producing REST APIs, familiarity with API authentication patterns (OAuth2, JWT) and integration with third-party platforms.
    • Familiarity with learning management system APIs, SCORM/xAPI standards, training enrollment workflows, or e-learning content delivery platforms.
    • Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines, branching strategies, and sprint-based delivery, with advanced English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart

    • Experience with eLearning platform APIs such as Thought Industries, Docebo, Cornerstone, or similar LMS/LXP systems.
    • Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI (Tin Can), or Learning Record Store (LRS) integration patterns.
    • Experience with Oracle APEX 22.x or later, including APEX REST Data Services and Universal Theme customization.
    • Knowledge of Oracle EBS Education Services or learning entitlement system integrations.
    • Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline configuration, artifact management, and release automation.
    • Familiarity with microservices architecture and API gateway patterns as they apply to learning platform integrations.
    • Experience with Next.js or component library frameworks is a plus.
