JOB SUMMARY

Wissen Technology is hiring a DevOps + SRE + Linux Engineer to support and enhance mission-critical messaging platforms and production infrastructure. The role focuses on production reliability, observability, automation, incident management, and continuous improvement across large-scale distributed systems while working closely with engineering and business stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE, LOCATION, MODE OF WORK

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

• Linux System Administration (5+ years, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
  
  

• DevOps and Production Support experience (5+ years in enterprise environments)
  
  

• Shell Scripting and Python automation for operational tooling and process improvement
  
  

• Observability, Monitoring, Alerting and Dashboard creation using enterprise monitoring platforms
  
  

• Incident, Problem and Change Management in 24/7 production environments
  
  

• Middleware platform support and multi-tenant hosting environments
  
  

• Apache Kafka, IBM MQ or similar messaging technologies including configuration and performance tuning
  
  

• Troubleshooting at system, infrastructure and application architecture levels
  
  

Optional Skills (Good to Have)

• Kubernetes and containerization technologies
  
  

• Public or Private Cloud platforms
  
  

• CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies
  
  

• Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow
  
  

• MongoDB, Redis and other NoSQL databases
  
  

• TCPdump, Wireshark, JSON, XML, Avro, FIX and Protocol Buffers
  
  

PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  
  

• Leadership: Experience acting as an escalation point and collaborating across global teams
  
  

• Ownership: Ability to independently drive production issues, automation initiatives and infrastructure improvements
  
  

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing documentation and presentations
  
  

• Problem Solving: Self-motivated with strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
  
  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Level 3 production management support for enterprise messaging platforms
  
  

• Design dashboards, alerts and proactive monitoring to improve service reliability
  
  

• Automate operational processes and reduce manual toil through scripting and tooling
  
  

• Lead complex troubleshooting across software, infrastructure and architecture layers
  
  

• Manage incidents, problems, requests and change implementation activities
  
  

• Partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to plan and execute production changes
  
  

• Participate in on-call rotations and global follow-the-sun support model
  
  

• Maintain operational standards, best practices and infrastructure documentation
