Sr. US Tax Preparer

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
• Manage a portfolio of client accounts with minimal supervision
• Multi-task across several client engagements and deadlines simultaneously
• Work within a fully cloud-based, paperless environment
• Apply working knowledge of bookkeeping platforms (QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online) to support client tax preparation
• Handle tax matters involving S Corporations, international (US/Canada) tax considerations, real estate tax law (including 1031 exchanges), and stock options
• Collaborate with firm leadership and other staff to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax filings
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and regulatory requirements

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of 8 years of tax preparation experience within a CPA firm
• Required: Hands-on experience with CCH Axcess tax preparation software
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal oversight
• Strong technical/computer proficiency comfortable accessing cloud-based systems and working in a fully paperless environment
• CPA license preferred, but not required
• International tax knowledge (US/Canada)
• Real estate tax law experience, including 1031 exchanges
• Experience with stock options taxation
• Substantial experience working with S Corporations
