About this role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working on Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of complex software projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and business objectives.
- Own technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and key technology decisions to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Operations teams to align execution with business priorities.
- Identify, track, and proactively mitigate project risks, dependencies, and delivery blockers.
- Provide regular visibility into project progress, release readiness, resource requirements, and overall project health.
- Ensure engineering best practices through code reviews, technical governance, automation, and quality-driven development.
- Support production issue triage, root cause analysis, and resolution while driving platform stability and reliability.
- Guide teams on performance optimization, scalability, security, and observability best practices.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence across the team.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
- Deep understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven solutions using Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized application deployment.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs and API design best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in cloud-native application development and deployment.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture patterns, and system scalability.
- Experience leading technical discussions, solution design reviews, and engineering execution.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and driving delivery outcomes.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging solutions.
- Knowledge of security best practices for enterprise applications and APIs.
- Experience working with high-availability and large-scale distributed systems.
- Exposure to performance engineering and capacity planning.
- Experience driving engineering process improvements and technical transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with fintech, digital payments, or transaction-processing platforms would be an added advantage.
