About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Data Scientist to join our Applied AI Team. In this role, you will work together with the team building our Merchant agent tool. This tool aims to scale easy-to-use, personalized support to our merchants to help them better succeed on our marketplace.
---- What the Candidate Will Do ----
- Design, develop and interpret agentic models via analyses and experiments to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Feed these insights back to shape the technical execution and strategic direction.
- Develop data-driven insights to identify opportunities to improve the product or build new products.
- Present findings to various constituents: technical, business and executive audiences.
---- Basic Qualifications ----
- Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent.
- Experience in experimental design and analysis, exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis.
- Ability to use Python/R to work efficiently at scale with large data sets.
- Proficiency in SQL.

- Experience managing projects across large, ambiguous scopes and driving initiatives in a fast moving, cross-functional environment.
