**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced **Senior Purchase Engineer** to manage procurement, supplier development, and strategic sourcing activities. The role will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, managing purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and commercial expertise, experience in industrial procurement, and the ability to work closely with engineering, production, quality, and inventory teams to optimize costs and ensure uninterrupted operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, pricing, and reliability. They need to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Determine the best sources for goods or services by considering factors such as cost, quality, availability, and reliability. This may involve local, national suppliers.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, including price, delivery schedules, payment terms, and quality standards.
• Create purchase orders (POs) and ensure they are accurate and compliant with company policies and legal regulations. Track and manage POs to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
• Analyse costs associated with procurement and cost-benefit analysis to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure optimal levels of stock and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to ensure that purchased products or services meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Handle emergency procurement situations when urgent needs arise, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.
• Ensure that all purchased materials and components comply with the specified quality standards and requirements, such as industry-specific standards, or internal quality standards.
  
  

**Requirements**

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical / civil engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in an industrial environment.
• Good knowledge of vendor development, sourcing, negotiation, and cost analysis.
• Strong supplier management, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work with engineering, production, quality, and inventory teams.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a technical procurement environment.
