Sr.Mechancial design engineer

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer shall be responsible for Mechanical design and drafting of drawings for X-Ray Cargo Scanning products based on approved requirements. He / She should be involved in preparing technical requirements, design, Finite element analysis and drafting drawings for X-Ray Cargo scanning products/Light Engineering products. He / She should be able to effectively work and communicate within a team of technically strong engineers. He / She should be adhering to the schedules, standards and quality processes and procedures of the Organization.

• Preparation of Preliminary design, detailed design and drafting of drawings for components/ sub-assemblies of X-Ray Cargo scanning products using best practices, design methodologies and company’s design and drafting standards.
• Mandate hand on experience on Autodesk Inventor and Vault
• Assist Technical Lead/Manager in defining project scope/requirements and estimating effort and schedules of the project.
• Design and develop the solutions for the components/subassemblies of the X-Ray Cargo Scanning systems.
• Responsible for executing all jobs in an efficient manner with less assistance from Technical Lead/Manager.
• Help technically and work with the other team members closely by giving solutions for component/Sub assembly level Design tasks.
• Assist Technical Lead/Manger for responding promptly and professionally to manufacturing shop floor reported issues and issues reported by Customer.
• Participate in review of CAD models, drawings, documents and uploads in Agile PLM server and channelize learnings into future work by updating existing A3 documents or creating new A3 documents.
• Provide assistance to reviewers for determining type errors and severity of errors on the CAD models/drawings / designs that are created/modified.
• Upload created/updated CAD models and drawings in company’s Agile PLM server that includes Work in Progress (WIP) CAD models and drawings as well.
• Follow Engineering Change Notice (ECN) / Engineering Change Request (ECR) process as per Global procedure.
• Adhere to established quality practices based on ISO standard and minimize errors in work.
• Provide recommendations to management concerning issues of Design, Drafting and Prototype Development.
• Domestic/International travel is required for short duration for trainings and Project execution support.
• Consult with Technical Lead/Manager regarding professional skill development.

Knowledge and Skills:-

• High level of hands-on experience of Autodesk Inventor series software. If possessing skills in Autodesk Inventor series software, should be willing to learn Solid works software and build expertise in it.
• Good understanding of X-Ray Cargo scanning systems working principles is preferred.

• Possess  engineering skills and ability to identify tasks which require complex level design effort.
• Good knowledge of mathematical formulae to support designs of in areas of structural analysis, thermodynamics etc.
• Good understanding of Mechanical manufacturing processes like sheet metal working, Structural welding,3D Printing using Plastics and Metal etc is preferred.
• Good understanding of Theoretical knowledge of Finite element Analysis is preferred.
• Good understanding of Quality control procedures.
• As new technologies emerge and impact our systems, expected to learn these technologies very quickly and resolve any problems involved in integrating new technologies with our systems.
• Knowledge in Estimation of time and effort on projects and tasks.
• Good knowledge of  American standard for GD&T, ASME Y14.5.
• Good hands experience of Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

• Work experience with at least 5 years from reputed company with Good Electromechanical product development is desired and work experience at Multinational company is preferred.
