Role Description This role of Business Analyst – Sales & Commercial Analytics will be responsible for managing inquiry analytics, pricing intelligence, and business data insights to support strategic decision-making. The role includes analysing historical data related to pricing, product performance, customer behaviour, and sales conversion, while enabling data-driven decisions across sales and business functions. This position will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Production, and Finance, and teams to optimize business growth, profitability, and customer engagement.
Job Responsibility Review, analyse, and respond to all incoming sales inquiries and RFQs. · Conduct pricing analysis based on historical data, key accounts, and strategic projects to support optimized quotation decisions. · Perform negotiation analytics considering product mix, customer segments, and deal value. · Analyse and track key business data including: o Sales Orders & Billing data o Payment tracking & outstanding analysis o RFQ / Inquiry funnel performance o Inquiry compliance – Terms & Conditions response o Inquiry vs Order conversion analysis o Regional & segment-wise sales trends o Key Accounts & Key Projects performance o Product-wise / Application-wise / Industry-wise analytics · Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI / Excel for management insights. · Track competitor pricing, market trends, and win/loss analysis. · Coordinate with internal stakeholders for data collection, approvals, and business support. · Provide actionable insights to improve conversion rate, profitability, and sales efficiency. · Ensure data accuracy and maintain commercial databases and records.
Key Skills/Competencies: Technical Competencies · Microsoft Excel: Advanced formulas + functions, Pivot Tables + Pivot Charts, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH & Data validation. · Technical Foundations: APIs and system integrations, SQL, Basics Statistics, Basic Python & Basic knowledge of cloud platforms is an advantage. · Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Power BI, Tableau & Dashboard creation and KPI tracking. · Analytical Mindset: Familiarity with data visualization concepts (experience with Power BI) & Storytelling with data for decision-making. · Project Management & Collaboration Tools (*Not immediate require as it’s for future): Jira, Confluence & Microsoft Visio. · CRM & ERP Experience: CRM-Salesforce / ERP-EPICORE (Preferred based on candidate).
Business Competencies · Domain Knowledge: Defence, Aerospace, UAV & Drone. · Systems & Sub-systems knowledge & Trends: Understanding Systems (5th Gen Aircraft, Air- Defence, etc) and Sub-systems (Radar, Optronics, Warfare, etc). · Top Accounts Trends: Understanding of customer behaviour, key accounts, and project-based sales for the top accounts like Defence PSU (Ex- BEL, BDL & HAL) & Indian Corporate (Ex- TASL, Adani, L&T Defence, Bharat Forge, etc.) · Inquiry Understanding: RFQ lifecycle (Expertise in inquiry handling, offer preparation, pricing justification, and commercial analysis), and B2B sales processes. · Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Requirement Specification (FRS), User Stories and Acceptance Criteria & Process mapping. · Competitor Analysis: Capability to perform competitor benchmarking and market positioning analysis. · Strategic Thinking: Aligning projects with business goals, Identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency & Cost-benefit analysis. · Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Root cause analysis, Gap analysis & Ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies with a high level of attention to detail. · Negotiation & Facilitation: Leading meetings, Handling customer interactions and Negotiation. · Pricing: Strong capability in pricing analytics, margin analysis, profitability tracking, and ability to support negotiation strategies through data-driven insights. · Forecast Trends Understanding: Based on Market dynamics, Sales funnels, Conversion metrics, Profitability, Gross margin, and pipeline forecasting from Sales team. · Reporting and Presentation: Creating management reports, KPI and performance tracking & Presentation skills using PowerPoint. · Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication, Presentation and storytelling.

- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and present complex information clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing, electronics, or industrial environment is an advantage.
- Proficiency with Excel and business analysis tools; familiarity with ERP or CRM systems is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a structured, detail-oriented manner and manage multiple priorities. Experience: 7-15+ Years
