    About this role

    Key responsibilities

    1. Merchandise planning, category mix & assortment strategy

    • Own category-level planning and assortment strategy across the pre-loved garments resale channels, ensuring strong alignment between available inventory, target consumer segments, and channel fit. • Translate recovered garment supply into structured assortments by pre-defined metrics. • Determine how inventory across direct resale, restored/revived and repurposed pathways should feed into merchandise plans and channel-specific assortments. • Develop and refine the merchandise architecture based on consumer preferences, seasonal shifts, sales performance and inventory availability. • Ensure the right product is placed in the right consumer context in the right resale channel.

    2. Pricing, price realisation & brand-appropriate merchandising • Own pricing frameworks and price-band logic across product categories, quality grades, brand tiers, revival interventions, and resale formats. • Guide merchandise presentation in a way that strengthens perceived value, trust, and consumer willingness to buy pre-owned apparel you are not just building a brand but re-defining a category! • Align pricing and product curation with pre-loved garments positioning across style, affordability, quality, and circular credibility. • Ensure merchandising decisions support both revenue outcomes and inventory productivity across the value chain.

    3. Drop planning, event revenue ownership, demand-supply match & inventory productivity • Own merchandise and assortment planning for 100% of resale events and drops being executed by the team, across physical and digital channels. • Link every event or drop to a clear revenue target, with corresponding assumptions on inventory deployed, expected sell-through, ASP, category performance and stock productivity. • Plan and manage collection-led edits, themed assortments, channel-specific merchandise launches and recurring drops with strong execution discipline. • Improve demand-supply match by continuously converting actual sales, shopper behaviour and venue-level insights into sharper future assortment decisions. • Track post-event sell-through, unsold inventory and inventory ageing, and define the next-best routing action instead of allowing stock to accumulate indefinitely.

    4. Restore, Revive & Repurpose pathway development Restore & Revive - • Work closely with sorting, processing and revival teams to standardise interventions across cleaning, stain/odour treatment, surface refinement, mending, hardware replacing, finishing and other relevant recovery actions. • Build and document a Restore & Revive SOP / guidebook, covering garment diagnosis, intervention rules, quality standards, routing decisions, cost/time considerations and final resale-readiness checks. • Convert field learning into repeatable operating standards that can eventually be trained and replicated across higher processing volumes and future locations. • Track whether revival interventions are improving resale yield, price realisation, sell-through and overall garment level economics. Repurpose - • Develop a structured Repurpose SOP by fabric type and garment category, identifying what can be repeatably transformed, what intervention is commercially justified, and what should not be repurposed. • Test these garments through relevant pre-loved resale channels to understand customer response, willingness to pay, category demand, sell-through and operational economics. • Use these learnings to create and launch a defined RePurpose Edit. and refine the proposition basis market learnings. • Build repeatable design and production logic rather than one-off upcycling experiments, ensuring repurposing remains a commercially disciplined value-recovery pathway.

    5. Trend translation, consumer insight & display logic • Track consumer trends, local fashion preferences, and buying behaviour to inform merchandise decisions and styling choices. • Translate consumer insight into practical curation choices across category selection, looks, edits, price points, revival decisions and visual presentation. • Use consumer response to revived and repurposed garments to determine which interventions merit replication and which should be discontinued. • Guide display and merchandising logic to improve conversion and basket quality.

    6. Cross-functional coordination & merchandising discipline • Coordinate closely with collection, sorting, grading, revival/processing, inventory, resale, marketing, and founder teams to ensure merchandise plans are realistic and executable. • Work closely with processing and revival teams to ensure garment interventions are driven by expected consumer demand and value-recovery potential rather than operational activity for its own sake. • Work closely with marketing and resale teams to ensure product curation, RePurpose Edits and restored/revived assortments are communicated effectively through digital and physical channels. • Work closely with inventory and warehousing teams to improve stock rotation, reduce ageing, and increase category-level turnover.
