- Assess and manage patients with acute kidney injury (AKI)chronic kidney disease (CKD)electrolyte abnormalitiesacid-base disordersand hypertension .
- Participate in the management of nephrology emergencies including severe hyperkalemiapulmonary edemauremiaand rapidly deteriorating renal function.
- Assist in the care of patients receiving hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis .
- Perform comprehensive history takingphysical examinationclinical documentatiod daily patient reviews.
- Request and interpret relevant laboratoryimagingand renal investigations.
- Assist consultants with procedures such as central venous catheter insertionrenal biopsyand dialysis-related procedures where appropriately trained and supervised.
- Monitor patients beforeduringand after dialysis and promptly identify complications.
- Coordinate referrals and care with ICUemergency medicinecardiology endocrinology urology and other specialties.
- Communicate effectively with patients and relatives regarding diagnosistreatment plansand clinical progress.
- Maintain accurate medical recordsdischarge summariesand treatment documentation.
- Participate in on-callemergencyand ward duties according to the hospital rota.
- Follow hospital policies regarding infection preventionpatient safetymedication useand clinical goverce.
- Participate in teachingauditscase discussionscontinuing medical educatiod departmental academic activities.
