Job Description Security Presales Consultant
About the Team
The Security Presales team works closely with customers, OEMs, partners, and internal sales teams to design and position cybersecurity solutions that address evolving business and security challenges. The team plays a critical role in solution design, technical consulting, bid management, and customer engagement across enterprise security opportunities.
Key Purpose of the Role
The Security Presales Consultant will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, architecting cybersecurity solutions, supporting technical sales engagements, and driving successful solution adoption. The role requires strong expertise in Cisco Security technologies and multi-vendor security platforms, along with the ability to translate business needs into scalable and secure architectures.
What You'll Do
- Engage with customers, OEMs, channel partners, and sales teams to understand business, technical, and solution requirements.
- Conduct technical discovery sessions and recommend appropriate cybersecurity and network security solutions.
- Design and prepare HLDs, LLDs, architecture diagrams, BOM/BOQ, technical proposals, and Statements of Work (SOW).
- Support RFPs, RFQs, tenders, compliance documents, and technical solution submissions.
- Architect and position Cisco security solutions, including:
- Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
- Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC)
- Cisco ASA
- IPS / IDS Solutions
- Provide solutioning support for multi-vendor security environments, including Check Point and Fortinet FortiGate.
- Analyze customer infrastructure and recommend security modernization, firewall optimization, and network transformation solutions.
- Develop migration strategies for firewall consolidation and migration projects, including FortiGate/ASA to Cisco or Check Point platforms.
- Work closely with sales teams to qualify opportunities, define scope, and prepare optimized BOM/BOQ.
- Deliver customer presentations, workshops, solution demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
- Prepare competitive solution comparisons and articulate technical and business differentiators.
- Ensure seamless handover to delivery teams with complete solution documentation, assumptions, implementation approach, and scope definition.
Who We're Looking For
- 5-10 years of experience in Security Presales, Network Security, Security Consulting, or Solution Architecture.
- Strong expertise in Cisco Security technologies, including FTD, FMC, ASA, IPS, and IDS.
- Hands-on experience with Check Point and/or Fortinet security solutions.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network and security architecture.
- Experience in preparing HLDs, LLDs, BOM/BOQ, RFP responses, and technical proposals.
- Exposure to firewall migration, security transformation, and security modernization projects.
- Excellent customer-facing, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work with sales, OEMs, partners, and delivery teams in a fast-paced environment.
