Sr. Equity Research Analyst (Financial Modeling)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Equity Research Analyst to join our research team in Indore. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience in financial modeling, company valuation, and coverage of Indian equities (mid-cap / small-cap / sector-specific). You will be responsible for identifying high-conviction investment ideas, building detailed financial models, writing research reports, and interacting with company management teams.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Investment Analysis

• Company & Sector Coverage: Conduct fundamental analysis on covered sectors and mid/small-cap companies. Identify emerging industry trends, competitive advantages, and structural growth drivers.
• Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build, maintain, and update 3-statement financial models (DCF, Relative Valuation, SOTP) and scenario/sensitivity analyses.
• Report Writing: Author initial coverage notes, earnings updates, sectoral thematic reports, and daily market notes.
• Management Interaction: Attend quarterly earnings calls, corporate site visits, analyst meets, and track corporate governance closely.

Client & Internal Engagement

• Present stock recommendations (Buy/Hold/Sell) and quantitative thesis to internal committees, portfolio managers, or institutional/retail clients.
• Provide timely updates on market-moving events, quarterly earnings surprises, and macro developments.
• Support marketing and media efforts by contributing market views or commentary when required.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of core equity research experience on the sell-side or buy-side in Indian equity markets.
• Education: MBA (Finance), CA, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or Masters in Economics/Finance.
• Certifications: NISM Series XV: Research Analyst Certification (Mandatory per SEBI regulations).
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial modeling.
• Hands-on experience with financial terminal databases (Bloomberg, Ace Equity, Capitaline, Screener, or Reuters).
• Deep understanding of Indian GAAP, Ind-AS, balance sheet analysis, and forensic accounting principles.
• Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical rigor, and the ability to formulate concise investment arguments under tight market deadlines.
