Position - Senior Engineer - Equipment Maintenance

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Substation Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of 400/132kV transmission substation equipment. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting, fault investigation, and technical communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of 400/132kV transmission substation equipment.
• Work on Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, and associated auxiliary systems.
• Understand and troubleshoot GIS control schemes, interlocks, and operating mechanisms.
• Respond effectively to real-time alarms and technical complaints.
• Independently investigate equipment abnormalities and failures and identify root causes.
• Analyze technical issues and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and investigation reports.
• Coordinate with relevant teams during testing, commissioning, maintenance, and fault resolution activities.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with applicable safety and technical standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.Sc./B.E. in Electrical Engineering: Minimum 6 years of experience.
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering: Minimum 8 years of experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience in 400/132kV transmission substations.
• Strong experience with GIS, Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, and associated auxiliaries.
• Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) capabilities.
• Good technical English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred / Added Advantage

• Experience with Circuit Breaker Hydraulic Mechanisms.
• Knowledge of Partial Discharge (PD) Monitoring Systems.
• Experience in responding to real-time equipment alarms and technical failures.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be technically strong, capable of working independently, and comfortable handling critical substation equipment faults, investigations, and troubleshooting in a transmission substation environment.
