Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Technical Operations Reliability team helps United operate safely and dependably by analyzing aircraft defects and operational disruptions, monitoring fleet and system trends, and supporting effective corrective actions.

The Senior Engineer provides advanced technical leadership across fleet and aircraft-system reliability work. Depending on assignment, the role may lead fleet reliability, EA effectiveness, cross-fleet analysis, or other Reliability initiatives, connecting operational data, engineering actions, and stakeholder decisions to improve aircraft performance.

u00B7Lead analysis of aircraft defects, operational interruptions, system failures, and fleet trends to identify root causes, risks, and improvement opportunities

u00B7Lead or review fleet, system, and EA effectiveness assessments to determine whether corrective actions and engineering changes are achieving intended reliability outcomes

u00B7Integrate technical and operational information across projects or fleets, identify gaps or adverse trends, and drive appropriate follow-up or escalation

u00B7Provide technical guidance and peer review to engineers, promoting consistent analysis, documentation, and effectiveness practices

u00B7Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, Data, and other stakeholders to align technical findings, priorities, actions, and closure

u00B7Provide concise reliability updates, dashboards, recommendations, and decision support to engineering and leadership audiences

u00B7Lead or support improvements to reliability methods, data quality, tracking, reporting, and team processes

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

u00B7At least 5 years of experience in aviation, aircraft maintenance, reliability engineering, engineering analysis, or a related field

u00B7Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, another engineering discipline, or a related field

u00B7Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and aircraft fleet health and/or reliability programs

u00B7Ability to perform drill-down and root-cause analysis using complex, high-volume operational data

u00B7Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and attention-to-detail skills

u00B7Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel

u00B7Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship

u00B7Must be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken)

u00B7Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

u00B7Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

u00B7FAA A&P license or DGCA-issued equivalent

u00B7Experience with airline reliability programs, Engineering Authorizations, aircraft modifications, maintenance-program changes, or effectiveness reviews

u00B7Familiarity with database querying and data visualization/reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, Palantir Foundry, or Python

u00B7Experience defining and tracking meaningful operational or reliability metrics

u00B7Experience leading technical reviews, coordinating cross-functional work, mentoring others, or driving improvement actions through closure
