Role Overview
Join the TES LegalTech – Risk & Compliance engineering team to build and enhance platforms that support Target's governance, risk, compliance, and legal operations. Our applications enable critical business capabilities through modern, cloud-native technologies including Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot, React, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
As a Senior Engineer, you'll partner with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions while helping modernize our platform and drive innovation, including GenAI-enabled capabilities.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll partner with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions while helping modernize our platform and drive innovation, including GenAI-enabled capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop scalable full-stack applications and backend services.
- Build APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Contribute to system design and platform modernization.
- Deliver secure, reliable, and observable software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business solutions.
- Support production systems and improve reliability and performance.
- Mentor peers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to GenAI-enabled solutions and innovation
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise applications.
- Strong experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred).
- Experience building scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience participating in system design, code reviews, and production support.
- Experience with Kafka, GraphQL, Golang, Redis, Elasticsearch, or cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with observability, CI/CD, or DevSecOps practices.
- Exposure to GenAI, Python, LLM integrations, AI agents, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Experience working in Risk & Compliance, LegalTech, Governance, or other regulated enterprise domains.
