    • Work with BU, sourcing, procurement, EMS providers, distributors, and brokers to identify alternate sources and supply options.
    • Review distributor availability, broker options, lead times, and market conditions to support supply continuity.
    • Provide component-level analysis and recommendations to BU Engineering and sourcing teams.

    Risk Management and Product Reviews

    • Support BOM risk reviews across commodity categories including semiconductors, passives, electromechanical components, connectors, and other electronic components.
    • Identify lifecycle, sole-source, single-source, REE, availability, and compliance risks.
    • Review supplier and commodity market trends to highlight potential future supply challenges.
    • Use tools such as SiliconExpert, OEM data, distributor portals, and other component databases to identify alternate parts.
    • Assess alternate components for basic parametric, form-fit-function, lifecycle, availability, and compliance fit.
    • Support gap closure between component data sources such as Qlik, SiliconExpert, PLM, and internal trackers.

    Compliance and Standards

    • Support component compliance reviews for RoHS, REACH, PFAS, CAL65, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure identified alternates include required compliance and lifecycle information.
    • Maintain compliance documentation and support component compliance data requirements as needed.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work with design engineering, sourcing, procurement, quality, manufacturing, EMS partners, OEMs, and distributors to support component selection and risk mitigation.
    • Coordinate with BU teams to validate alternate parts and support implementation decisions.

    Supplier and Risk Management

    • Support supplier, distributor, and OEM engagement for component availability, lifecycle, and technical data.
    • Ensure component data accuracy and consistency across internal systems and external tools.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
    • 8+ years of Component Engineering experience.
    • Good knowledge of electronics and electromechanical components across all major commodity categories.
    • Experience in component lifecycle review, alternate part identification, and BOM risk analysis.
    • Working knowledge of PLM systems such as Agile, Windchill, or similar tools.
    • Experience using component databases such as SiliconExpert, IHS, or equivalent tools.
    • Strong MS Excel skills and ability to manage large component datasets.
    • Ability to work with cross-functional teams across engineering, sourcing, procurement, quality, and manufacturing.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience supporting EMS, OEM, distributor, and broker engagement.
    • Familiarity with RoHS, REACH, PFAS, CAL65, and component compliance requirements.
    • Exposure to global electronics supply chain dynamics and commodity market trends.

    Key Competencies

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good understanding of electronic component specifications and lifecycle risks.
    • Ability to evaluate alternate parts and summarize recommendations clearly.
    • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
    • Detail-oriented approach to documentation, compliance, and data accuracy.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support urgent business needs.
    • Proactive mindset toward risk identification and mitigation.
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
