Sr. Engineer - Color Components

Job Summary / Purpose

AkzoNobels Technology Integration Team is looking for a Technical Lead Color Components to lead the technical delivery and lifecycle management of reusable technology components such as .NET libraries, NuGet packages, APIs and services.

The role combines hands-on software engineering leadership, people management, architecture, component lifecycle management and Agile/Scrum delivery. The person will lead and coach Component Engineers while ensuring that components are scalable, reusable, well-documented, secure and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Component Engineers and manage their performance and development.
• Own the lifecycle of reusable software components, APIs, services and NuGet packages.
• Define standards for versioning, backward compatibility, release management and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, API/service design and integration patterns.
• Drive code quality, automated testing, CI/CD and security practices.
• Work closely with Product Owners to convert requirements into technically executable backlog items.
• Plan capacity, allocate work and manage technical delivery commitments.
• Coordinate release readiness and ensure operational readiness of services.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to translate scientific requirements into engineering specifications.
• Work with internal/external engineering teams and technology partners.
• Drive technical debt remediation, dependency upgrades and continuous improvement.

• Experience managing reusable software components and their lifecycle.
• Experience with versioning, backward compatibility and release management.

Education

Bachelors or Master’s degree in:

• Computer Science
• Software Engineering
• Applied Physics / Mathematics
• Related technical discipline

Ideal Candidate Profile

Looking for someone who is essentially a Senior .NET Technical Lead / Engineering Lead who has moved beyond pure feature development and has experience owning reusable platforms/components and leading engineers.
