Sr. Data Scientist

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist / AI-ML Engineer with 5+ years of experience in designing and developing AI/ML models, advanced analytics, and data science solutions. The role involves hands-on work with Python, statistical modeling, exploratory data analysis, and cloud AI/ML technologies such as Azure Machine Learning and Databricks. The ideal candidate will have strong energy/oil and gas domain knowledge, the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights, and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop AI/ML models to solve business challenges.
• Collaborate closely with technical managers, petro-technical professionals, and data engineers to integrate models into business workflows.
• Identify and frame opportunities to apply advanced analytics, modeling, and related technologies to improve decision-making, workflow, and automation.
• Communicate the value of proposed opportunities with team members and stakeholders.
• Identify required data and appropriate technology to solve business challenges.
• Clean data and develop, test, and refine models.
• Establish lifecycle management processes for models.
• Provide technical mentoring in modeling, analytics technologies, the modeling process, and consulting skills.
• Drive innovation in AI/ML to enhance data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Align with the team on shared goals and outcomes, recognize others' contributions, and collaborate effectively while seeking diverse perspectives.
• Take actions to develop self and others beyond existing skill sets.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in designing and developing AI/ML models.
• Solid foundation in mathematics, probability, and statistics, with demonstrated depth in advanced analytics and data science methodologies, including supervised and unsupervised learning and model development.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Working knowledge of cloud AI/ML services, preferably Azure Machine Learning and Databricks.
• Domain knowledge relevant to the energy sector and working knowledge of the oil and gas value chain, including upstream, midstream, or downstream business workflows.
• Proven ability to frame data science opportunities, perform exploratory data analysis for data cleaning and discovery, visualize data, and identify actions needed to achieve results.
• Ability to quickly assess the current state and apply technical concepts across cross-functional business workflows.
• Experience driving successful execution, deliverables, and accountabilities to meet quality and schedule goals.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive business value.
