Sr. Data Engineer - AWS

Role Description The Sr. Data Engineer – AWS is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on AWS. Day-to-day work includes developing and optimizing ETL processes, implementing robust data models, and supporting data warehousing solutions that power analytics and AI-driven applications. The person in this role will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to ensure data is reliable, well-structured, and accessible for downstream use. Responsibilities also include monitoring data workflows, improving performance, enforcing data security and compliance, and contributing to best practices for data engineering across the organization.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills and experience in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing for building scalable, reliable data platforms.
• Candidates should possess solid skills in Data Modeling and Data Analytics to design efficient data structures and enable meaningful insights.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Extract Transform Load (ETL) development to create, optimize, and maintain data pipelines with tools like DBT, AWS Glue and Lakehouse architectures like Iceberg, DeltaLake.
• Experience with AWS data services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages commonly used in data engineering (such as Python or Scala).
• Background in designing secure, compliant data architectures, ideally in healthcare or other regulated environments.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and mentor other engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
