About this role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Oracle Fusion Payroll Consultant with strong functional expertise in payroll concepts, Oracle Fusion Payroll implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting. The role involves delivering end-to-end payroll implementations, enhancements, testing, and production support for clients in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The consultant will work offshore in close collaboration with onsite teams to configure payroll solutions, develop and debug Fast Formulas, execute parallel payroll runs, resolve complex payroll issues, and ensure accurate payroll processing and successful go-live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Configuration: Configure payroll definitions, elements, eligibility rules, balances, payment methods, costing, and General Ledger (GL) transfer.
- Payroll Concepts: Apply a strong understanding of gross-to-net calculations, earnings and deductions, retroactive processing, proration, arrears, balances and dimensions, costing, and payroll period close.
- Fast Formula Development: Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot payroll Fast Formulas to support complex payroll calculations and business requirements.
- Implementation: Lead and execute end-to-end Oracle Fusion Payroll implementations, including requirements analysis, configuration, testing, data migration, go-live, and hypercare.
- Testing and Parallel Runs: Prepare test scenarios, conduct system integration testing (SIT), execute parallel payroll cycles, and reconcile results against legacy payroll systems.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose failed payroll flows, incorrect calculations, retroactive processing issues, balance discrepancies, and costing errors using logs, element entries, and balance views.
- Data Migration: Perform payroll balance and element entry migrations using HCM Data Loader (HDL), validate migrated data, and support payroll readiness for go-live.
- UAE Payroll Localization: Support UAE payroll requirements, including Wage Protection System (WPS), applicable pension and social security rules, gratuity, and leave salary calculations, as relevant to client requirements.
- Enhancements and Updates: Implement payroll policy changes, assess quarterly Oracle updates, conduct regression testing, and maintain existing payroll configurations.
- Reporting: Develop and maintain payroll and costing reports to support payroll validation, reconciliation, and business reporting.
- Oracle Support: Raise, manage, and follow up on Oracle service requests to resolve product-related issues.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with onsite leads, HR, Finance, technical teams, and client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver payroll solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain functional specifications, configuration documents, test scripts, reconciliation reports, and implementation documentation.
Role Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Oracle Payroll, including at least 4 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Payroll.
- Minimum of 2 end-to-end Oracle Fusion Payroll implementations, covering configuration, parallel runs, and go-live.
- Strong understanding of payroll concepts, gross-to-net calculations, earnings, deductions, balances, retroactive processing, proration, arrears, and costing.
- Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Fusion Payroll configuration and payroll processing.
- Proficiency in developing, debugging, and troubleshooting Oracle Payroll Fast Formulas.
- Experience with payroll testing, parallel runs, payroll reconciliation, data migration, and production support.
- Hands-on experience with HCM Data Loader (HDL) for payroll balance and element entry migration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across payroll flows, calculation errors, balance discrepancies, and costing issues.
- Ability to work independently with onsite teams and manage implementation activities effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and explain technical and functional issues clearly in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with UAE and Gulf payroll localization, including Wage Protection System (WPS), General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) requirements, gratuity, and leave salary.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion Absence Management and Time and Labor.
- Previous experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Payroll.
- Experience developing payroll and costing reports using Oracle BI Publisher.
- Familiarity with Oracle Fusion quarterly updates, regression testing, and Oracle Support service requests.
- Oracle Fusion Global Payroll certification is preferred.
