Sr. CoC Engineer (Test) || Varroc || Pune

Role & responsibilities :

JOB PURPOSE :

Responsible for validating embedded system functionalities through systematic requirement analysis, test case development, and execution. Ensure product quality by identifying and documenting defects, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues. Applies knowledge of communication protocols and develops automation frameworks to optimize and scale test execution. Supports continuous improvement in test processes, tools, and documentation in alignment with organizational quality and performance standards.

1. Analyze requirements

• To understand system functionality and define test coverage.
• To identify test scenarios ensuring functional and non-functional aspects are captured.
• To trace test cases back to requirements for validation and coverage completeness.

2. Develop and maintain test cases

• To ensure thorough validation of system behavior under various conditions.
• To standardize and document test procedures for reuse and traceability.
• To support both manual and automated execution pathways.
• To ensure the testcase updating based on new/modified requirements.

3. Execute test cases

• To validate software/system functionality against defined requirements
• To detect and reproduce defects in a controlled environment
• To ensure thorough validation through various testing (smoke testing, sanity testing and regression).
• To ensure conformance to quality and performance criteria.

4. Create and manage defects

• To document anomalies with complete traceability and evidence.
• To support development teams by providing root cause inputs and logs
• To ensure resolution and closure of defects through lifecycle management

5. Perform root cause analysis

• To identify systemic issues or recurring defects
• To contribute to preventive action planning and process improvement
• To enhance test coverage and reduce future defects

6. Generate test reports and metrics

• To provide visibility into test progress, quality status, and defect trends
• To support release decisions with objective quality indicators

7. Implement and maintain test automation

• To improve efficiency, repeatability, and scalability of test execution
• To reduce manual effort and execution time across regression cycles

8. Validate communication protocols

• To ensure proper implementation and reliability of protocol interfaces (e.g., CAN, LIN)
• To support system-level validation and interoperability

9. Collaborating with cross-functional teams

• To resolve issues quickly and align on quality expectations
• To ensure timely feedback loops between development and test functions
• To contribute to project planning and risk assessments

Preferred candidate profile

a) Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification required: B Tech/BE in Electronics/ENTC/EEE
• Qualifications preferred: B Tech/BE in Electronics/ENTC/EEE

b) Work Experience

• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in automotive industry
• Knowledge of communication protocol(CAN, LIN, UDS, SPI, I2C, ADB and Serial), Python, MS Excel, Renesas tool, JIRA or equivalent, JAMA, VISure or equivalent ,etc.
• Strong expertise with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL), HiL systems (dSPACE, NI, ETAS),
• Knowledge of vehicle level testing. (Integration and real time test)
• Knowledge of Automotive ECUs like BCM, ADAS, Powertrain, Infotainment and Lighting (Exterior and Interior)
