About this role
Sr. Backbase Developer Location: India, Remote
Work Experience: 5-10 Years (with at least 2-3 years of hands-on Backbase implementation experience.)
Requirements: - Experience in Java/Spring or equivalent enterprise stack, with at least 2-3 years of hands-on Backbase implementation experience.
- Strong understanding of Backbase Engagement Banking Platform concepts: journeys, widgets, microservices, entitlements, and integration services.
- Front-end experience with Angular or React, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI frameworks, preferably with Backbase Page Composer and widget configuration.
- Back-end experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, JSON, security (OAuth2/OpenID Connect), and integration with external systems.
- Experience integrating Backbase with core banking systems, payment gateways, identity providers, and other enterprise systems via REST, MQ, or ESB/iPaaS.
- Familiarity with microservices, containerization, and cloud-native deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar).
- Good understanding of digital banking domains: onboarding account opening, payments, lending, servicing, and customer engagement.
- Proven experience working in agile Scrum teams, with participation in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Strong problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to work directly with client stakeholders (business and IT). Prior experience working directly with Backbase Professional Services or a certified Backbase partner.
- Knowledge of Backbase Banking OS / AI-powered Banking Platform and journey orchestration capabilities.
- Experience in banking or financial services domain projects (retail, SME, corporate, wealth).
- Exposure to DevOps and observability tooling (Git, Jenkins/Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK).
Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Design and implement digital banking journeys (retail, SME, corporate, wealth) using Backbase widgets, microservices, and integration patterns.
- Configure and customize Backbase front-end (Angular/React-based widgets, theming, UX) according to bank branding and UX guidelines.
- and maintain Backbase back-end services, extensions, and integrations (REST APIs, microservices, event-driven integrations) with core banking, CRM, and payment systems.
- Participate in solution design and architecture discussions, ensuring optimal use of Backbase capabilities, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, designers, and QA to refine requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Configure and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment of Backbase components on target environments (Kubernetes/OpenShift/Cloud).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across environments (dev, QA, UAT, production), including performance tuning and defect fixing.
- Ensure solutions follow Backbase best practices, security guidelines, and reference architectures.
- Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer to client and internal teams.
- Mentor junior team members on Backbase platform concepts, implementation patterns, and coding standards.
