Senior Database Architect

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Architect with extensive experience in database architecture and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance tuning and optimization, data streaming, and ETL pipelines. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring, observability, and incident triage, along with a collaborative mindset to integrate DevOps practices into database management.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust database architectures that meet business requirements.
- Optimize database performance through tuning and best practices.
- Develop and maintain data streaming and ETL pipelines to ensure efficient data flow.
- Monitor database performance and implement observability tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Lead incident triage efforts to quickly address database-related incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps practices into database management.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvement.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience in database architecture and development.
- Strong expertise in performance tuning and optimization of databases.
- Hands-on experience with data streaming technologies and ETL pipeline development.
- Proficient in monitoring and observability tools for database management.
- Experience in incident triage and resolution.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience with DevOps integration.
- Expertise in Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with various database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
- Understanding of data modeling and database design principles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 13-16 years of relevant experience in database architecture and development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
