EDUCATION • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable. • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any engineering field. CERTIFICATIONS • Certification in cloud computing preferred WORK EXPERIENCE • Relevant experience in middleware administration • Proficiency in areas such as cloud adoption, cloud migration and deployment, digital transformation, database and middleware, and DevOps pipeline build and management • Previous experience working on complex software products and delivering on complex initiatives • Experience working within the financial services industry, including experience with credit and debit/ACH payments is a plus FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • Ability to write basic scripted, structured query language (SQL), or compiled code • Good working knowledge of middleware concepts, design, and operations • Understanding of data management • Understanding of application, server, web services, and network security • Familiar with middleware scripts and management tools • Good understanding of operating systems (Windows, Unix (AIX), Linux, etc.) • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) • Drive to develop technical solutions that provide excellent performance when implemented • Understanding of agile software development methodology and industry best practices • Understanding of fundamental software engineering and Computer Science principles: object-oriented design, structured design, databases, algorithms, data structures, usability, refactoring, debugging, and configuration management • Understanding of service oriented architecture databases, data modeling techniques • Experience with Kubernetes preferred FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS • Communicates effectively • Identifies multiple paths to success through the development of analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills • Exercises sound judgement and strives for continuous improvement • Demonstrates optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness to others' ideas • Learns while doing • Actively listens and asks thoughtful questions • Leverages available technology to achieve efficiency and results • Engages inclusively and with intent • Always acts with integrity • Analytical thinking • Iterative problem-solving • Serving as a trusted advisor • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and adapt to daily changing requirements • Ability to execute tasks independently or to collaborate effectively on a team, as needed RESPONSIBILITIES • You will be responsible for: • Working with software infrastructure staff to establish, test and maintain the integrity and performance of software products. • Coordinating changes to software configurations and maintaining the integrity and traceability of configurations throughout the product life cycle. • Reviewing, analyzing, developing, installing, and modifying software products and computer operating systems; resolving common problems associated with software and operating systems. • Providing software status reports to senior leadership, while analyzing customer requirements and involving senior leadership as necessary to resolve problems in a timely manner. • Including: • Performing hands-on troubleshooting, optimization, performance tuning, installation, configuration, and general support of large, complex enterprise environments based on industry best practices • Writing documentation to support middleware infrastructure • Maintaining good communication with vendors, systems support teams, and local teams as needed • Supporting the bank in any business continuity plan (BCP) contingency events, either onsite or remote support • Developing, enhancing, debugging, supporting, maintaining, and testing software applications and associated products • Assisting with design and development of software modules that meet customer requirements while upholding high standards, reliability, security, maintainability, and performance • Performing software quality assurance, including all types of testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance • Supporting multiple projects with competing deadlines • Adhering to procedures and systems to mitigate risk • Ensuring compliance with established industry rules, regulations, and best practices
