What You’ll Be Doing (position summary): The Sr. Analyst, Business Effectiveness is responsible for extracting, cleaning, and analyzing data from multiple sources to deliver actionable insights that support business decision-making for the Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. Leveraging advanced analytical techniques and business intelligence tools, the role identifies patterns and trends to drive strategic objectives. The incumbent collaborates with cross-functional teams, ensures data governance and compliance, and delivers high-quality analytics to support process improvement and organizational goals in alignment with CIBC standards. How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):
- Gather data from primary and secondary sources, including databases, APIs, and analytics platforms
- Prepare and clean raw data by identifying errors, duplicates, and missing information to ensure data integrity
- Apply statistical techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and business trends
- Develop and maintain data models to support business analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data findings into actionable recommendations
- Create dashboards and visualizations using BI platforms to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit, quality, and regulatory purposes
- Produce regular and ad hoc reports to support business operations and leadership decision-making
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Collaborate with team members, business partners, and leadership to deliver actionable analytics and insights
- Coordinate with Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and other functional groups to gather requirements and share findings
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support business objectives and decision-making
- Liaise with subject matter experts and project sponsors to translate data into meaningful recommendations
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and working groups to represent the Analytics function and support cross-functional initiatives
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:
- As a key contributor to the business unit, this role has the authority to recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
JOB DIMENSIONS:
- Responsible for analyzing large, complex datasets across multiple operational areas within CIBC India
- Accountable for the delivery of regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics that inform business operations and leadership decision-making
- Supports process improvement, risk mitigation, business continuity, and strategic decision-making through data-driven insights
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive operational excellence
Experience: 7+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications): Must Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related business field
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles
- Professional certifications in analytics, BI, or data science (preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, data modeling, and automation; high Excel skills are a must
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and spreadsheet applications (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Experience with databases and visualization tools and BI platforms (Tableau/Power BI)
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data from multiple perspectives
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to bridge the gap between data and business action
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Effective multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
